Recent Advances in Surgery | Dr. Shalin Dubey

Usually the word Surgery, was synonymous with cuts, scars, pain, bleeding, Long stays in hospitals, out of work and unable to enjoy basic aspects of life for quite some time.

Fortunately, the way we treat common problems has undergone sea changes, due to innovations and advancements in science for example:

1. LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY:

Laparoscopic surgery, has revolutionized the field of surgery over the past few years. It has gained worldwide popularity and acceptance by surgeons and patients alike.

Laparoscopy allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) without having to make large incisions in the skin. It can be used to help diagnose a wide range of conditions that develop inside the abdomen or pelvis. It can also be used to carry out surgical procedures, such as removing a damaged or diseased organ, or removing a tissue sample for further testing

HD Vision, 3D Cameras, better vessel sealing devices and instruments have made Laparoscopy safe for most of surgical problems like Gall bladder stone surgery, hernia , appendix surgery & Colorectal surgery

2. ROBOTIC SURGERY:

How Robotic Surgery is Done?

Robotic arms are installed on patient at pre-determined sites through tiny holes.

  • The chief surgeon than sits on the main console with full control of the movement of operating arms; thus, in full control over the operative steps independent of his assistants.

  • HD 3D vision & 10 X zoom provides immersive view. The intuitive motion of Robotics software allows the surgeon to perform even Complex procedures with much ease after extensive training.

Robotic Surgery Makes life Easier: Not only for Surgeons ,because it is easy to operate with the help of robotic tech due to HD 3D vision, intuitive movement ,more precision and ease of complete control…But also for patients ,due to less blood loss and quick recovery…My last patient of robotic hernia ,drove his car back home ,the very next day ,He neither had any other option nor any need to get somebody to drop him back home.

  1. LASER PROCEDURES:

Various Lasers have made Piles, fissures & fistula surgery almost painless ,bloodless & scar less

OPEN SURGERY

LASER PROCEDURE

  • Daily Dressings

  • Prolong Hospitalizations

  • Bed Rest

  • Painful

  • Bleeding

  • No need for Daily Dressing

  • Get back to work next day

  • Walk out of hospital same day

  • Less or No Pain

  • Peace of Mind

Is Laser treatment safe ?

Laser surgery is less invasive then open surgery . The affected area is simply treated without any cuts with laser energy in a precise and focused manner and the problem is solved within a few minutes. The surgical field is bloodless and sterile
